No country is a melting pot. The United States is not a melting pot. Canada is not a melting pot. These countries are, however, mosaics. A mosaic is made up of many different and beautiful pieces that come together to form one picture. Just like a mosaic, each person in these countries brings their own unique piece to the puzzle.
The United States is often referred to as a melting pot because it is home to people from all over the world. This metaphor suggests that all of these people somehow become “melted” together into one American identity.
While it’s true that immigrants do assimilate into American culture, they do so while retaining their own cultural identities. In other words, they don’t lose their individual pieces; they just add them to the larger puzzle.

Melting Pot Mojo Review
When it comes to food, there are few things more comforting than a big pot of stew bubbling away on the stove. And when that stew is packed full of flavorful spices, fresh vegetables, and hearty chunks of meat, it’s even better. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Melting Pot Mojo, a new restaurant in town that specializes in international stews.
We stopped by for lunch on a weekday and were impressed by the variety of stews on offer. There was an Indian-style chicken stew with plenty of heat; a thick beef and vegetable stew that tasted like it had been simmering all day; and a lighter fish stew with delicate flavors.
All of the stews came with either rice or bread on the side, and we opted for the latter so we could soak up every last drop of deliciousness. The portions were generous and the flavors spot-on, making Melting Pot Mojo a great option for a hearty (and affordable) meal.
We’ll definitely be back to try some more of their stews – and maybe even venture out into other dishes on their menu too.
